Stripwashing Cloth Diaper

Build up refers to residue left by detergents, fabric softener or other substances used to clean diapers. If you notice a decrease in the functionality of your diapers, build up may be the culprit.. Ermmm.. Your Cloth Diaper start leaking after 1 to 2 hours!! Oh no.. Frustrating, Upset and feel like you want to use Disposable Diaper back right?? No worries mommies. All we need to do is 'Strip-washing' your baby's Cloth Diaper. 'Stripping' refers to the removal of residue on diapers. One thing mommies need to understand that, too much detergent, natural oils from fabrics, insufficient rinsing and diaper cream are cause of build up..

Tips for you to 'Strip-Washing'.

METHOD 1:-

1. Takes your clean/dry cloth diapers (Mana yang nak di 'Strip-washing');
2. Hand wash you diaper with regular dish soap (Jenis liquid, recommend 'Sunlight')
3. Add a bit of dish soap to the fleece/suede, either rub the fleece or use a medium bristle brush to scrub the fleece. (Please don't brush to hard, it can cause you diaper damage);
4. Turn inside out and repeat on this side too;
5. Rinse with water. (Make sure that the water runs clearly);
6. Toss to washing machine and wash it without detergent;
7. Add a bit off distilled vinegar or distilled white vinegar to the washing machine;
8. Add extra rinse until no more soap bubbles are present;
9. Spin and hang dry.

METHOD 2:-

1. Takes your clean/dry cloth diapers (Mana yang nak di 'Strip-washing');
2. Hand wash you diaper;
3. Full loading your washing machine with WARM water not HOT water. (If you have a washing machine with temperature control, choose the 60 degree Celsius and wash cycle);
4. Do Not put any detergent;
5. Put the Cloth Diapers into the washing machine and run cycle;
6. Add extra rinse until no more soap bubbles are present;
7. Spin and hang dry..

You may use this method at any time you feel that the diaper may be repelling. Some people, recommended to Strip Wash the diaper once a month. Specially if you find that you diaper has started to leak. If you often hand wash you Cloth Diaper, make sure you rinse the diaper with water runs clearly and no more soap bubbles present.
